Exhibition Statement :
We see natures rhythmic fractal patterning in a snowflake, in a leaf and in the wings of a dragon fly. The smallest part of an object repeats itself over and over again to create the whole. The human brain recognizes and responds to repeating patterns it sees in nature. My impressionistic style combines this fractal patterning with the refraction of light; creating colour and movement. My abstract rendering of this natural process which I call ‘refractionism,’ challenges and stimulates the viewer’s natural appreciation for nature’s rhythm. My abstracted impressionism presents natures colours in foliage, landscapes, water and sky. Some realism finds its way out of the abstract creating a true life image. I hope you enjoy and connect with my unique style with inquisitive wonderment of nature’s patterning.
